My story
You are so very welcome here – every emotion is welcome, every version of you is welcome – exactly as you are right now. I Get You… and I’ve Got You!
When I was diagnosed with bowel cancer back in 2016, I immediately knew that I needed to go through this journey as consciously as possible, because there was a need to use it to be of service to others. I told my oncologist that I really wanted to go through it, the good, the bad and the (at times very) ugly. When I finally finished my treatment process (which was surgery, six months of chemotherapy, then complications followed by more surgery) I found myself in a very strange place – I wanted my normal life back (and to show up as normal to mother my three very small children) – but suddenly everything just looked so different I had no clue what that meant – or where to start. I was determined to face this head on and shine light on the darkest parts.
This process took a lot of patience, dedication and hard work. Over the following two years, I gained two Life Coaching Diplomas and dove headlong into every healing/recovery modality that felt aligned. This culminated in not only becoming a level 3 Reiki Master, but developing a true passion for helping cancer survivors understand why everything feels so different post-cancer and get that ‘gap bridged’ and get on with life again.
The longer I studied coaching, kept upskilling and working with people at varying stages of their cancer journeys, the more I became convinced that Just Feeling Really Good (by making the relationship with the Self the most important one) was really the key to not only wellness but long term genuine happiness. I work with adding more to clients lives. More fun, more connection, more authenticity, more love. It also quickly became apparent that, these sessions barely even mentioned the word ‘cancer’. I found myself working in the same way with people who had been through any big life event – even perceived ‘small’ ones. I began being asked to speak at various events, work with corporate teams and set up and launched the ConnectHer Women in Business Platform for Business West – which I take great pride in managing!
When the Relationship with the Self becomes the focus, the things that don’t serve us just naturally disappear. This also plays a massive part in managing that voice that taps us on the shoulder (for cancer survivors it’s ‘Canxiety” and for most other women it’s a tasty mashup of guilt, resentment and the impostor itch!)
You are so very welcome here – every emotion is welcome, every version of you is welcome – exactly as you are right now. I Get You… and I’ve Got You!
